Classes will be cancelled at Holmes Junior High on Friday, November 17

On Thursday, November 16 Holmes Junior High received an anonymous threat.  As safety is the Davis Joint Unified School District’s number one priority the Davis Police Department were contacted and, in conjunction with school staff, are conducting an investigation into the threats.   The decision to close Holmes Junior High School, Friday, November 17, 2017 was made out of an abundance of caution and in light of the recent school shooting in Northern California.   The site will be closed to all. No student, staff or other individual should be on campus at any time tomorrow. Staff, students, parents and the school community are being notified.

At this point in time, all other DJUSD schools remain open on Friday November 17, 2017.  There are no known threats to other campuses, however you may see district administration and the Davis Police Department on campuses throughout the district tomorrow.  Read the message from Superintendent Bowes HERE

Please join district and school administrators, teachers, students, parents and community members on December 4 from 6:30pm-8:00pm in the North Davis Elementary School multipurpose room, for a community forum focusing on advancing our efforts around the We All Belong Resolution.

DJUSD Spotlight

We continue to receive ideas and feedback from employees and members of our broader school community about ways to meet the challenge of being at or above the regional compensation level. Check out the ideas suggested by our community and view an up-to-date analysis of those ideas.  Ideas submitted through our Team Solutions email address will be included as well as other feedback we receive. DJUSD is committed to exploring all ideas the community has regarding increasing revenues and/or re-prioritizing expenditures in order to meet our fifth strategic goal. Visit www.djusd.net/stratgoal5 to track the status of our progress on these goals.

Please also be sure to visit our new  Frequently Asked Questions document posted to the Team Solutions website to learn about regional compensation levels, the California teacher shortage, DJUSD teacher retention and more.  Keep sharing your ideas on how to raise revenue and/or reprioritize expenditures by emailing TeamSolutions@djusd.net
