Bill Storm

As Instructional Technology Coordinator, my boots hit the ground where technology serves effective instruction. Like any powerful tool, computing devices and the Internet that ties them together can provide exciting professional opportunity along with fist-slamming frustration. My role and my goal are to assist teachers in optimizing the former and to find needed resources to minimize the latter.

District Webmaster: As of Academic Year 2013-2014, DJUSD moved its web presence onto the School Loop platform. District staff, parents and students now enjoy a fully integrated communications system, designed to support an engaged learning community. My role as district webmaster is to support our site webmasters, administrators and teachers as they learn this new and exciting tool. Information on this system is found here in School Loop Help.

Instructional Systems: Careful assessment and data analysis is required to  maximize learning opportunities for all students. To that end, I manage the Illuminate Education data and assessment system, various Scholastic reading applications, physical education’s Fitnessgram, the Edmodo learning management system, and other systems.

Professional Development: Professional learning has changed profoundly since the days of “How to Use Your Digital Camera.” Differentiated Instruction is vital not only for students, but for our professionals as well, requiring that we provide up-to-date and customizable tutorial resources for staff, found here in Applications Support. I also support sites and various teacher Professional Learning Communities, small groups working to analyze student data and use technology to inform their practice to enable them to most effective address the learning needs of each individual student they serve.

Online Resources: Nested in the millions of websites on the Internet are effective and powerful teaching tools and professional resources, so how to sort through the garbage to find the jewels? We provide you with a start to this process on our Educator Resources webpage. Here you will find vetted links to Online Curriculum Resources, and articles on grants, fair use regulations, and information on various professional topics.
