Facilities
The Department of Facilities provides adequate and modern classrooms and educational facilities for all of the students of the Davis Joint Unified School District. The department is also responsible for the planning and construction of improvements to the existing school facilities, the acquisition of school property, approval of eligibility for new schools, planning of the new school facilities, and, ultimately, the construction of these facilities. The Department of Facilities oversees applications for state funding and monitors funding sources, which include state-assisted funding programs, General Obligation Bond (Measure K), Community Facility Districts (Mello-Roos) and Developer Fees. The department also performs the functions related to facility use, facility rental and safety issues related to facilities.
