Parcel Tax Oversight Committee
On November 2, 1999 registered voters in the Davis Joint Unified School District supported a proposed parcel tax (Measure N) to help fund programs and services. This parcel tax was a continuation of similar parcel taxes approved in 1991 and in 1995. In November 2007, registered voters approved Measure Q, which replaced the Measure N Parcel Tax. Measure Q was approved for a four year term through June 30, 2012. The purpose of the parcel tax is to raise additional revenue for the following:
- Provide enhanced reading and mathematics programs;
- Increased instructional program offerings;
- Reduced class size at selected grades;
- Additional nursing, counseling and support services;
- Improved nutrition through fresh farm produce;
- Supplemental staff training;
- Classroom, library, and technology supplemental materials, equipment and services
