DJUSD Later Start Initiative

Senior High School Start Times Will Move Later in 2017-18

The DJUSD is committed to our mission of creating optimal conditions and environments for all students to learn. In alignment with our mission the DJUSD Board of Trustees instructed the Superintendent to make secondary school start times later, while continuing to promote the education of parents, students, staff and the community regarding the importance of sleep for teens and the factors that affect the quality and duration of teenage sleep. As a result all Senior High Schools will start the 2017-18 school year at 8:15, retain the current schedule format from prior years and end no later than 3:30. Check out the Senior High School schedules for Davis Senior High School and Da Vinci High School (coming soon).

DJUSD staff has created this website to educate staff, students, parents and community members about our progress toward these goals.
