Elementary Physical Education

PE Standards

       The five model physical education standards include the following content areas: Locomotor Movement, Manipulatives, Movement Concepts, Rhythmic Skills,  Combinations of Movement Patterns, Body Management, Fitness Concepts, Aerobic Capacity, Flexibility, Muscular Strength, Body Composition, Group Dynamics, Self Responsibility, Social Interaction, and Assessment.

Frameworks, Standards, and Units by Grade 

       Standards from all content areas are identified by grade level.  Each grade includes framework language, standards, and recommended units of study.

Lesson Plans for September

       Cooperative tasks and activities are important climate builders, which set the stage for safe and productive activity environments.  These lessons include units for K-1, 2-3, and 4-6. These are sample plans provided by California State University, Sacramento's Kinesiology and Physical Education Department.

California Physical Fitness Testing

       Each Spring, California requires students in grades 5,7, and 9 to be tested.  Visit this section for Healthy Fitness Zones, fitness tests, and District test results.
