What is Zangle?

Zangle is a rich, full-features student information system (SIS) that covers all aspects of student management, including enrollment, scheduling, attendance, mark reporting, transcripts, behavior, etc.  Zangle was created by C Innovation, which is made up of a team of educators and technologists.  Zangle provides an enterprise level system incorporating web applications that use .NET technology, and a non-proprietary ODBC (open database connectivity) compliant, open system running on a Microsoft SQL server.

Why is DJUSD replacing its current system?

While our current SIS, SASI, has served the District well for many years, Pearson School Products, the company which supports SASI, has announced they would no longer support it after next year.  Therefore, SASI will be replaced with Zangle, a system that truly provides the centralized and robust data management and decision-making support that more modern student information systems offer.

Will I be affected by this change?

Anyone who currently uses the student information system will be affected, as the new system will require training on the new interface and new business rules that support the Zangle system.  Training for teachers will be held close to the beginning of the 09-10 school year, though administrative system users, those who regularly access student and district data (now called "Power Users") will begin training in January, 2009, continuing through the spring and summer.
