 2012-2013 GATE Testing Schedule

Grade 3*: from 2:00 – 3:00pm, meet in Reception Area, District Office

Universal testing takes place during the third week of September and is administered in the classroom.

Make-up Test dates include: Sept. 26, 2012* or Jan. 9, 2013*

* - Only for 3rd graders who were absent during Universal testing, who are new to the school district, or who live in the school district but do not attend public schools. 

Grades 4 & 6:  from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, meet in Reception Area, District Office

                          Test dates include: Nov 14, Dec 5, Dec 12, 2012 or Jan 16, 2013

 

Grades 7 & 9:  from 4:00 - 5:00 pm, meet in Reception Area, District Office

                          Test dates include: Nov. 14, Dec 5, 2012 or Jan 16, 2013

 

Complete Student Nomination Form, available on-line or from district receptionist.

NOTE:  Drop-in testing will be allowed only if there is space available; call to reserve your space.

 

Information about Self-Contained GATE Classes

 

To be considered for the 2013-2014 school year, test results must be received in the GATE Office no later than : Early Spring, date To Be Determined (TBD), 4:00pm for entering grade 4;  Early Spring, TBD, 4:00pm for entering grades 5-6;  Early Spring, TBD, 4:00pm for entering grade 7; and Early Spring, TBD , 4:00pm for entering grades 8-9.

Intent Forms for current 3rd graders, entering 4th grade in 2013-14, are due in the GATE Office by Early Spring, Date, TBD, 4:00pm.  Postmarks will not be considered.

 

Intent Forms for current 6th graders, entering 7th grade in 2013-14, are due in the GATE Office by Early Spring, TBD, 4:00pm. Postmarks will not be considered.

 

Intent Forms for current 4th, 5th, 7th and 8th graders will be mailed in Spring to the families of all qualified students —from these forms, a continuing student secures his/her spot; a new student may be placed from the rank order waiting list.

 

IN-HOUSE TESTING: Qualifying tests for the DJUSD GATE Program may be taken during the open test period, see above.

OUTSIDE TESTING: A student may also test with any licensed psychologist so long as he/she uses the most recent version of a mental reasoning test, administers and reports all section results, and provides a full report to the GATE office for consideration. In addition, once an appointment has been made but prior to testing with an outside evaluator, the parent must obtain a "Referral Form for Outside Evaluation" directly from the DJUSD District Office, 526 B Street. Test results will not be accepted if this form is not completed in the prescribed manner.
