Valley Oak Special Education Preschool
General Information
The Valley Oak Special Education Preschool provides a continuum of services for preschoolers with a variety of special needs, including speech and language disabilities, from the age of three until the child enters kindergarten. We are staffed by a team of professionals who evaluate and provide services for eligible preschoolers.
Children who qualify for these services demonstrate significant delays or disabilities impacting their ability to function in a preschool program or at home and are at risk for academic difficulties when they reach school.
Referral Process
Referrals should be made by parents and may be based on their own concerns or on the recommendations of preschool teachers, pediatricians or other specialists in the community.
To make a referral call our secretary during the hours listed above. We follow the Davis Joint School District Calendar.
When a referral is made, our secretary will obtain information from the referring person to assist us in determining which assessments would be appropriate for the child. An assessment plan will be completed based on the information provided. We will call you to schedule appointments with the appropriate evaluators. When the assessments are complete we will schedule an Individualized Educational Plan meeting. At this meeting the evaluators will share the results of our assessment with the family, obtain further input from you and make recommendations for services.
