2013-16 Technology Plan Goals

1. DJUSD teachers and staff will use technology to support the District curricular goal of all students attaining command of the English Language Arts California Common Core State Standards (CCCSS) annually.

2. DJUSD teachers and staff will use technology to support the District curricular goal of all students attaining command of the mathematics California Common Core State Standards (CCCSS) annually.

3. DJUSD teachers and staff will use technology to support the District curricular goal of all English Language Learner students acquiring English proficiency as measured by the ELD California Common Core State Standards annually.

4. All DJUSD students will be taught by Highly Qualified Teachers who demonstrate technological competence and strive to embed subject-appropriate technologies into their instruction to increase student engagement and achievement.

5. All DJUSD students and staff will have equitable access to a technology-rich learning environment that fosters 21st century aptitudes, including critical thinking and problem solving, communication, collaboration, and creativity and innovation.

6. All DJUSD students will graduate with technological and digital citizenship skills that prepare them for the transition to college/career, including appropriate and ethical use of information technology in the classroom so that students can distinguish lawful from unlawful uses of copyrighted works, including the concept and purpose of both copyright and fair use.

7. All DJUSD students will graduate with technological and digital citizenship skills that prepare them for the transition to college/career, including learning about Internet safety and how to protect online privacy and avoid online predators.

8. All DJUSD staff will be trained and supported in the use of technology to make student record keeping and assessment more efficient and supportive of teachers’ efforts to meet individual student academic needs.

9. The District and schools will use technology to improve two-way communication between home and school.

10. All DJUSD teachers and appropriate staff will have equitable access to technology and professional development to support instruction, assessment, task management, and workflow.

11. The District will establish a fiscally solvent long‑term plan for hardware, software, web-based tools, infrastructure, programs, training, and curriculum that support student learning goals and staff productivity.
