CCE renamingDJUSD is seeking community input on the renaming of César Chávez Elementary. A 15-member Ad Hoc Committee, appointed by the Board of Education, is currently gathering input and suggestions for a new school name. The committee will review submissions and forward its recommendation to the Superintendent by May 26, with a final decision by the Board expected on June 4, 2026. We encourage students, families, staff and community members to share thoughtful name ideas that reflect our community’s values and vision.

The suggestion form will remain open until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1.
