Student Medical and Accident Insurance

The health, safety and well-being of our students are priorities for Davis Joint Unified School District. We want to inform you that while our district does not provide medical or dental insurance coverage for injuries sustained on school premises, during school activities, or while participating in athletics, there are options available to secure this coverage for your family.

Here are a few options to consider so that your family is covered:

  1. You may be eligible for Medi Cal coverage. Please visit this site to learn more about the eligibility requirements and how to apply.
  2. You may sign up for voluntary student accident insurance that complies with the California Education Code and provides several options of coverage at a low cost. Click the link, search for your school site, and follow the instructions.

In addition, as a part of the annual enrollment process, your family will submit insurance information into the parent portal. We offer the following options to assist you with this task:

  • As we enter the new school year, you may re-enter the parent portal during our annual registration time period and submit information from your medical insurance card, specifically your Medical ID# and medical insurance carriers (Kaiser, Sutter, Partnership, etc).
  • If you need assistance in getting this medical insurance information entered correctly into your parent portal, you are welcome to bring your insurance card to our district office front desk at 526 B Street where we will make a photo copy and our Manager of Student Support Services, Jenn Mullin, will manually enter the information into your parent portal and then destroy the photocopy to keep your information confidential.
