Tax Exemptions Information and Application Forms

General Tax Exemption Information
DJUSD is dedicated to offering tax exemptions to eligible homeowners. Find relevant information below as well as information about a new law that could apply to special taxes in the future:

Measure H Exemptions
Measure H, the current DJUSD parcel tax approved by District voters in 2016, has exemptions for senior citizens (65 and older), Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients and for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) recipients who meet the income qualification.

CFD No. 1 Exemption
Community Facilities District No. 1, approved by District voters in 1989, has a 50% exemption for senior citizens (65 and older).

Measure M (Facility Bond) No Exemptions
In November 2018, Measure M, a bond measure was passed by District voters. There is not a tax exemption available for Measure M; State law does not provide tax exemptions for bond measures.

DJUSD Employee Exemption Provision
In September 2018, California Senate Bill 958 was signed into law. This new law provides that a future qualified special tax (such as a voter-approved parcel tax) may provide an exemption for teachers and other employees of the District if their principal place of residence is located within the Davis Joint Unified School District boundary.

This new law does not apply to the current Measure H parcel tax or CFD1; however, if voters approve a future qualified special tax that includes this exemption, information about how DJUSD employees would apply for this exemption will be shared with DJUSD employees.
