César Chávez Elementary MPR

Introduction

The DJUSD Bond Program includes the construction of new multipurpose rooms for César Chávez Elementary, Birch Lane Elementary, North Davis Elementary and Willett Elementary. Designs and planning for these buildings began in the 2019-20 school year.

Current Designs

As with any project, expectations, program goals, and costs were balanced.  View the schematic drawings for the MPRs and DSA approved site plans.

Scope of Work

The César Chávez Elementary School Bond Project includes a new multipurpose facility with open space to accommodate assembly seating for the entire school (up to 650 students). The building includes a stage, music room, warming kitchen, restrooms and utility infrastructure improvements. The building design is identical to the, Birch Lane, North Davis and Willett Elementary schools.

After thorough consideration of all aspects of the placement of the CCE MPR, staff directed our design team to move forward on a northern placement. A virtual community outreach video was posted on the Bond web page and provides details on the specifics of a north MPR placement and the public comment period. Project completion was August 2022.
