Davis Senior High School Celebrates Career and Technical Education Program Enhancements with Site-Based Ribbon Cutting
Posted on 05/26/2023

On Wednesday, May 24 at 10:00 a.m. the Davis Joint Unified School District (DJUSD) held site-based ribbon cuttings to celebrate the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program enhancements at Davis Senior High School (DSHS). Construction for each project began in spring, 2022 and was completed on Wednesday, May 22, 2023. Funding for each project was received from the State of California in the sum of $9 million which required a 1:1 funding match made possible by our Davis voters through the passage of Measure M. The newest construct on campus can be seen on the corner of Oak and East 8th st. which now houses the new 7,800 sq. ft of instructional space for the Engineering/Robotics pathway. The Transportation pathway has added a vehicle repair bay specific to electric vehicles and the Agriculture pathway has manufactured improvements to existing shops and agricultural facilities.

The event was attended by several of our Davis Board of Education Trustees, Superintendent Matt Best, DSHS Principal Bryce Geigle, staff and students of DSHS, architect and construction managers, as well as select members of the DJUSD leadership team. We are thankful to our Davis community for their support of these facilities which will accommodate students and staff in a modern learning environment built to house our growing high school community for years to come.
