Workshop Format

Each session has a specific focus and is broken into two parts: lecture and skill learning/practice.

  • Lecture - an expert will present information on the topic of the night.
  • Practice - DBT skills will be introduced that correlate to that topic.

Program Goals

  1. Raise awareness of psychological disorders in children and adolescents and reduce stigma.
  2. Provide participants with the information necessary to understand and meet their children's psychological needs and provide proper support.
  3. Provide participants with the information necessary to feel  comfortable talking about mental health and to effectively support students.
  4. Introduce participants to Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and give them the skills necessary to execute DBT outside of the workshop.
