The DJUSD Parent Empowerment Program (PEP) Talks are monthly virtual webinars for parents and guardians presented by local community organizations.

PEP Talks are held virtually the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 6:00-7:30pm. Pre-registration required. Language interpretation available.

Enhancing Parent-Child Communication


This presentation focuses on improving parent-child relationships through key communication strategies. The presentation will present core strategies to help you build stronger family bonds, including foundational principles from DBT, building trust and safety, and the power of validation. 

Presented by Tom Harrer LMFT, Owner/CEO of the Auburn-Davis Center for Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

Compassion Project 2021-2023

The Compassion Project was a parent workshop series on adolescent mental health and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). DBT is a cognitive behavioral therapy that focuses on four skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotional regulation.
